Catch Technique
Catch technique lets you play your corners press coverage 5 yards off the ball. Your corners will sit at 5 yards, wait for the receiver to come to them, then attempt to jam the receiver. This method is very effective against most routes, especially hooks and slants. To run this jam your corners and then flip the play, when the corners move back they are still programed to press the receivers. Run 2 man and run this for success.

how good is this at stopping constant slant routes being thrown?
ReplyDeleteWorks good against most all routes
ReplyDeleteNow, i haven't really seen a blog for this. I was playing a kid who was using GT. The whole game he ran the option, and i had no way to stop him. I started blitzing corners and running zone. Once i stopped that he began mixing the option with option pass. It was overtime before i figured a semi effective way to stop him which was keeping my lolb and rolb stationed in a cover 2 defense. the play i called was quarterback doubles or something. Anyway is there a more effective way to stop this annoying crap?
