I noticed you in a lobby today. My username is Dvbuente and I would love a game sometime. I may not be able to hang w/ you, but I will try. I get a lot of trash talk b/c of one thing: the triple option. I run it out of the I-formation with run dominant teams like OSU and LSU. They have good runners with mobile quarterbacks. Like Gator Heavy, the triple option is a sequence of options that force the quarterback to read the defense. However, I get constant grief from friends that it is "cheese." You know... the playbook that cannot be stopped. I do not run one triple option, I run about 5 different ones. It is an offense that forces you to "read" the defense, just like a spread offense. Basically I need you to come to my defense on this one. I beat two guys today who were 24-7 and 8-1. No love though haha. Help me out.
ReplyDeleteAlso, for those who are having trouble with the scramblers out there: take your best defensive end and make him a backup on the other side. Make your #1 DE's backup a reserve safety. For example: I put Jones (#2 SS) in as Alem's (#1RE) backup. I then put Alem in as the #1 LE's backup. This allows him to be on the field with the 1st string and 2nd string. Go to your 3-2-6 and run qb trap just like Mr. Craw said. The only thing is you have to make sure you have the package "D-line sub." Your #2 DT, #1 DE, and #2 SS now compose your d-line, w/ your #2 SS now being the spy instead of the defensive end. You can also use a backup linebacker, b/c he is a solid tackler as well. This may be "cheese" to some, but 9-velcro out of nickel drops 9, which seems different. And the 1-5-5 seems more out there than most things.

ReplyDeletep.s. if u guys read this dudes site, dont b afraid to ask for help i am ranked 20th and im asking for his help we all need it and hes our answer so drop a line bout what u cant stop or what u need help with and ths guy will turn ur average offense into a powerhouse ur weak defense into a championship continder dont believe me just post a question and then when u get his answer see if it doesnt help!
Hey dvbeunte, i like the qb trap idea with the SS as the D lineman spy, I probably will not use it but I can see how it would be effective. Everyone asks me how to stop the triple option, it is not cheese, so tell those losers (haters) to take their loss and shut up.
